The Academic Hospital Utrecht (for short AZU) is a former academic hospital in Utrecht. It was part of the University of Utrecht. This is the first academic hospital in the Netherlands and is located at the Catharijnesingel. In the 80's of the twentieth century the AZU is getting to big and moves to a new complex on the Uithof where it is still located. Most of the buildings are removed and replaced by apartments. Some buildings are kept and converted into apartemment buildings. The former main building is now called Enghlenschild.
